ROB DAVIS

Briefly: One of the premier long-snappers in the NFL.  Also played for the Chicago Bears and the CFL's Baltimore Stallions and was in training camps with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs.  Won the CFL's championship, Grey Cup, with Baltimore and played in Super Bowl XXXII with the Packers

Rob was a four-year starter at defensive tackle for Ship, starting all 43 games of his career.  He holds the school record of 353 tackles for a defensive lineman.  Following two unsuccessful tryouts with the New York Jets in 1993 & 1994 he landed a roster with the Baltimore Stallions of the Canadian Football League, and was part of the Grey Cup-winning championship team.  He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1996 but was cut.  His big break came later than year when he signed with the Chicago Bears and made their final roster and played in all 16 games that season as the teams long snapper for all punts and placement kicks.  He signed with the Green Bay Packers in 1997 and played in every game including Super Bowl XXXII.  He remains with the Packers and is widely considered one of the league's best long snappers.  He is also active in the community and speaks frequently at schools and community events, receiving the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce "Community Service Award" in 1999.  He was inducted into the Shippensburg University Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2003.
